Leighton has been with the firm since 1977 and concentrates his practice in the area of personal injury litigation. He attended Merrimack College (B.A., 1967) and received his J.D. Degree from Suffolk University. He is a member of the American Bar Association (member, Tort and Insurance Practice Section), the Vermont Bar Association (member, Committees on Torts), the Vermont Trial Lawyers Association (a Board Director and past President) and the Washington County Bar Association. He is a Justice of the Peace, and is on the Stowe Board of Civil Authority. He was a member of the Ethics Committee of Copley Hospital in Morrisville, Vermont, the Board of Directors for the Lamoille Home Health and Hospice, and the Board of G.R.A.C.E, an arts non-profit corporation. He is admitted to the Bar in Vermont and the U.S. District Court of Vermont.
Leighton was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He now resides in Stowe with his wife Regina. In his spare time Leighton is an avid motorcyclist, skier and bird hunter. He also enjoys Blues, Jazz, tennis, hiking and snow-shoeing.
